Yemen boasts the oldest coffee industry in the world, and only coffees grown in Arabia are entitled to the trade name Mocha. Grown in a small mountainous area with an elevation of 3,000 to 7,000 feet in the Bani Matar region, Ismaily Mocha is dry processed, hulled and sorted by hand. Ismaily Mocha accounts for only 10% of the total Yemeni production of coffee and is considered by many to be the highest quality Mocha available. This coffee is profiled and roasted to bring out the character and complexity with winey, spicy, nutty, malty and fruity tastes in the cup.
